mourning the bravest woman
Funeral of Anna Politkovskaya, an investigative reporter and fierce critic of Russian authorities and the war in Chechnya who was shot dead in her apartment block last Saturday in an apparent contract killing. Several hundreds of people, among them many diplomats and journalists, came to pay their final respects to the reporter.

getting ready for winter
this is a partition wall i'm building in my workshop in S. where i intend to spend some time this winter. the idea is to convert what is only a summer cottage into a place where i can pass the harsh russian winter. i've found that the cheapest solution was to equip it with a vestibule: this way i have a better insulation and less space to heat.
