Last call for watermelon and bike rides in the park, folks: autumn is back. Go get your rubber boots and rain clothes and make sure you have a life boat to survive the flood.

As for us, we are deserting the ship. Or at least temporarily. We are leaving Sunday to Croatia. I can't wait to hear the cicadas among the pine trees again. I'll be even happy to let them pee on me, something they seem to find extremely funny.

I can see you grimace, but it is soooo sweet compared to the icy rain that's falling on you now...

This is a bread oven's prototype I'm working on right now. I decided to build it as simple as possible, without using mortar, so that I can improve it in the process or dismantle it altogether without much pain. I should try my first batch of Montreal bagels next Saturday. Stay tuned.

It was my father in law's birthday this weekend and we went to the dacha to celebrate. Here I am in my workshop sitting on the brand new air mattress I bought recently.
